Look Before You Leap

What to ask for when choosing an SEO company?

Making the decision of using the internet to market is a wise one, but it doesn’t just end with that. Choosing a good internet marketing firm to do this is very important. Making the right choice in this case means understanding and asking the right questions. Some of these questions could be:

  • Will there be hidden text on the site?
  • Will they be doing article, blog, forum submissions?
  • What is their basic methodology?
  • Will they create RSS feeds?
  • How will they do link building?
  • Will these links be reciprocal or one way?
  • Will they do a competitor analysis?
  • Will they do a keyword analysis? (Because it is very important for an SEO campaign to succeed)
  • Will they guarantee that my website will not violate and search engine laws? (being taken down for flouting rules is the worst thing that can happen for a company website)
  • What is their strategy for social bookmarketing?
  • Will they ensure that only white hat techniques are used? (Because they are separated as black and white for a reason)
  • How does their directory submission process work?
  • Who writes the content/articles?
  • How will they ensure a better page rank? Are the guaranteeing a rank? (No one can really a no 1 Rank, but only promise better ranks, in comparison)
  • How many pages will they optimize?(The more the pages, the more expensive it is likely to get)
  • How much of their strategy depends on PPC? (Because PPC is a rather expensive strategy).
  • How will they measure ROI?

More so than ever asking questions in this vein is important because of claims made by companies which result in nothing. Check with more than one company and then decide which deal best suits your needs and only then give the go-ahead. The old adage fits here better than anywhere else, look before you leap.
