SEO Tips for Freelancers

Freelance writing is not the same as a full time content writer doing the same. True, they both pretty much the same job, but the work of a freelancer is more often than not cut out for him, with barely any room to wriggle. Plus the freelance often isses out on what the latter picks up on the job sometimes.

Here, we’ve put down three things that the freelancer shouldn’t miss when writing for SEO:

Internal Linking: It is a very important factor of SEO. It is the process of linking pages of the same site, with keywords found in the text of the current pages. Internal Linking is a positive thing because it increases the number of links that come to the page, i.e. the number of inbound links. The more the inbound links, the more the value it has.

Keyword Stuffing: Don’t fall prey to the false myth that the more the keywords, the more popular the site. This no longer the case. While it is true that keywords are important for a page to come up on the first page of the search, it is not the only thing. Therefore, don’t make every alternate word in the article a keyword and don’t stuff and choke the sentence with keywords. Space them out and limit it and use it to your advantage.

Page Titles: They are usually 60-70 word descriptions of the contents of the pages. They are what appear on the Search Engine Result page. They should contain the keywords which are important then again, it should not have only that. Keyword stuffing in the titles are looked down upon again. Having unique titles that holds the attention of your user is what works best.
