Face off: Flash vs HTML

It all started a few years ago. With the constant competition between Flash and HTML leaving people in a quandary about what to use we thought we’d make it simple by listing out the pros and the cons of both:

Flash HTML
Interactivity Flash stole the show here from the basic fancy buttons to the highly complicated music that can be incorporated within the site itself. It is nowhere as near as Flash in this aspect.
Reload It does not have to reload every time because the data gets loaded at the first time. The page gets reloaded with every click.
Plug ins The viewer needs a plug in to be able to view a site with flash on it. This may be problem when it comes down to fact that everyone might not have Flash. No such installing required and expected by the user.
Embedded fonts Rather simple and the fonts are easily embedded within the file. Embedding fonts is difficult and the designer may not have complete control over the fonts used.
Browser compatibility One less thing to worry about with the creative freedom offered by Flash Browser compatibility and animations are a definite cause of concern.

Both Flash and HTML have their benefit and it is rather difficult is not downright impossible to say which one is the better of the two cons considering they are both competing and evolving. The best thing to do at this point really is to use them both in tandem.
